Back in the 60’s & 70’s, there was a movement of peace and love. It wanted to stop all wars and violence and everyone to just love everyone else and be happy. The people mostly wanting this were called Hippie’s: a hippie (or hippy) is a member of a liberal counterculture, originally a youth movement that started in the United States and the United Kingdom during the mid-1960s and spread to other countries around the world.
The thing that was wrong with that movements is they didn’t come from real love, that is, God’s love. [inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]God IS love[/inlinetweet]. It pretty much existed because of what they thought was love. To the everyday person that doesn’t know God it’s just about everyone being happy and as long as they don’t offend anyone then it must be alright to do whatever it is that they want to do.
But God’s love is totally different from the kind of love they were trying to bring about back then. It’s a love that transcends all understanding (Phil. 4:7). It’s a peace that John 14:27 says is not like what the world can give you. It’s a love that only God can provide in your heart. It’s a love that can only be gotten through a relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s a love that God created in everyone that only HE can fill! Do you know this love?
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39.
In my everyday life, [inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]Jesus Christ is my peace! Where does your peace come from?[/inlinetweet]
